My favorite part of my job is getting to work in public policy and advocacy.  So much fun!  This afternoon I had a reception to attend at our new judicial building at the State Capitol.  The reception was at 4pm, but it was raining so hard it looked like night.

After leaving the reception, traffic was a nightmare.  It took me over an hour to go what should have taken 20 minutes.  It was cold and rainy, and I was tired.  I started getting frustrated, until the traffic report came on.  There were at least a dozen accident, several with bad injuries, two overturned trucks, and flash flooding.  I just felt grateful to be in my warm, undamaged car, and that I got home safely.

Day 21: Today, I am grateful that I got home safely – something that can be all too easily taken for granted.

Your turn!
